Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)

Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a therapeutic technique used in physical and occupational therapy to treat children with motor delays by improving automatic postural responses and promoting progress toward developmental milestones. The goal of DMI Therapy is to provoke a specified active motor response from the child in response to defined dynamic exercises prescribed by the therapist. This comprehensive intervention incorporates current research on neurorehabilitation, technologies, and methodologies. DMI stimulates neuroplasticity to facilitate new neuronal connections and development of motor milestones.

Nicole’s DMI Experience

Nicole’s DMI journey began in 2022 when a family she was working with was inquiring about this approach. She completed the first course and noticed a significant difference in her patient’s progress towards their goals. Astounded by the change in progress, she continued her DMI coursework in person in New York and Toronto.

Nicole was directly trained by both the founders of DMI, Jake and Jo-Anne from introductory level through intermediate. In March 2025, she earned the highest level of DMI certification, Intermediate Level B. Since then, she has assisted Jake and Jo-Anne in teaching DMI courses across the United States.
